SA Wet Lab for CICO Course

This one-day course provides a comprehensive training package that aims to give delegates the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage the Can’t Intubate, Can’t Oxygenate (CICO) scenario. Though targeted at anaesthetists of all grades, it will be of value to clinicians from any critical or emergency care background. A structured approach is used, consisting of pre-course reading and assessment, progressing to lectures, discussion and dry-lab skills training. The course culminates with operating theatre sessions in which delegates are immersed in realistic CICO scenarios. The format is unique in South Australia, and is based on the long-standing Royal Perth Hospital Wet Lab course. The course is held at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute. The medical faculty are all experienced and certified CICO instructors.
