Anaesthesia CPD Emergency Response Series: CICO

Suitable for: Anaesthesia trainees IT and above, Anaesthesia consultants, GP anaesthetists, GP anaesthesia trainees, Anaesthesia nurses, Recovery nurses Location: HNE Simulation Centre, John Hunter Hospital Campus. Aim To prepare anaesthesia providers for managing a can't intubate, can't oxygenate crisis Modules Using a combination of skills stations, facilitated by discussions and scenario-based learning, participants will develop and practise the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to recognise and manage the CICO crisis. Content - Review of available CICO guidelines - Decision making and recognition of the CICO crisis - Team response to CICO - Tips & techniques for performing needle cricothyroidotomy and surgical airway Participants in the ANZCA CPD Program may claim this ALS course as an emergency response activity in their CPD portfolio.
