Effective communication skills allow us to ensure best practice in management of patients. This is not about the words we use, rather, how we “get the message across”. It underpins the ANZCA Professional Roles of Communicator, Collaborator, Leader, Manager and Health Advocate. These non-technical anaesthesia skills entail sound intra-personal and inter-personal intelligence. What PCMS1 provides is an insight into the personalities that exist in all of us, allowing perception of yourself and others. You will receive: A PPI - Personal Profile Inventory Written plans on how to keep in OK-OK. A toolkit to recognise distress in self and others; a way to invite self and others out of distress. 3 full days. No pre-reading; course materials provided. Pre-course questionnaire. ANZCA CPD points: 49 (welfare/leadership/workshops). Cost (inc GST): AUD 2700; Trainees AUD 2000. Payment by instalment welcome.
