This course is designed to develop the basic proficiency in TTE that will allow participants to begin using echocardiography to complement their clinical evaluation skills. There are 5 components to this course: 1. Online pre-reading (prior to workshop attendance) • 7 eLearning tutorials + 20 pre-workshop case studies • Usually 20-30hrs is required to complete this component of the course 2. Workshop attendance • Each workshop is 3 hours long and will demonstrate relevant techniques with participants able to practice using the simulator. 3. Post-workshop self-directed 10 simulator case studies • Students return to the workshop location at another time to complete additional simulator cases. 4. Online exam followed by certificate of completion 5. Logbook provided for participant to complete 30 clinical cases (optional). Accredited with CICM for FCU training. Accredited with ASUM for CCPU training. CPD accredited with ANZCA, CICM, ACEM, and RACS.
