This one-day course provides candidates with the knowledge and skills required to teach other clinicians how to manage the Can’t Intubate, Can’t Oxygenate (CICO) scenario. Though targeted at anaesthetists of all grades, it will be of value to practitioners from any critical or emergency care background. Candidates must have a minimum experience level of ATY2 (4th year of training). The course is rigorous, and includes summative assessment. Successful candidates will meet the required standard and pass all aspects of the course. This format is unique in South Australia, and is based on the long-standing Royal Perth Hospital CICO Rescue Instructor Certification Course.
