New Anaesthetic Registrars Crises Management (NARCM)
This course is aimed at SHOs or Registrars with a minimum of 3 months anaesthesia experience, who have recently progressed beyond level 1 supervision and are about to participate in a call roster with level 4 (out of hospital) supervision. This 2-day practical workshop is aimed at improving crisis management skills for junior registrars. The course will cover some common or life-threatening anaesthesia-related emergencies. such as: - failed intubation - anaphylaxis - high airway pressures - obstetric emergencies - PACU and ED presentations - Principles of effective teamwork and communication The workshop is mainly hands-on skills training and simulated scenarios (with debriefing and discussion after each scenario). There will also be interactive small group discussions.
